How to Prevent Early Damage of Sonnenschein Battery |
Time:2019-07-26 Source: Views:2989 |
For a long time, lead-acid batteries have been used in the power supply of both diesel and gasoline vehicles. When starting the engine, the battery is required to supply the motor in a few seconds. Battery failure or early damage will affect the normal operation of automotive electrical system. Therefore, we need to understand the causes of early battery damage, and understand the matters that should be paid attention to when using. Batteries will not be able to charge and discharge normally soon after they are used. In fact, it is not all about the quality of batteries. If the battery is used improperly, it is most likely to cause early damage. The main causes of early battery damage are as follows:
1. Battery is not fixed firmly, strong vibration occurs during driving, cracking of sealing glue, cracking of battery shell and cover, fracture of pole and connecting plate, etc.
2. Battery pole and clamp device are too loose and too tight to form a clamp when disassembling and assembling, and too loose to form a pole with poor contact and ablation.
3. Continuous use of starter for a long time makes the battery discharge sharply, resulting in plate bending and scattered active substances.
4. When the liquid level is too low, the exposed liquid surface of the plate contacts with air intensely, and the oxidation of the plate contacts with the shaking electrolyte locally, which gradually forms a hardening layer of coarse-grained lead sulfate and causes the vulcanization of the plate parts. If the liquid level is too high, the electrolyte will splash out to corrode the parts when the vehicle is running.
5. The lack of long-term battery charging will make the plate vulcanized and unable to recover.
6. Generator conditioner failure, resulting in excessive charging, the active material on the plate quickly drops off.
7. When the electrolyte participates in impure distilled water or adds distilled water, use metal utensils. There are impurities in the electrolyte, which will generate some self-discharge, and the phenomenon of battery can not store electricity.
8. In winter, the battery is not charged in time after discharging, and the electrolyte density is too low to freeze, which makes the active substances scattered and shortens the service life of the battery.
In order to keep the battery in good condition and prolong its service life, it is necessary to take care of it carefully and control its operation correctly. The following points should be done when using batteries:
1. When installing the battery, do not let it tilt over 40 degrees. Before installing the battery, check whether the battery is sufficient; check whether there are tools left on the battery. Battery devices should be strong and the joints should be in good contact. If the connection chuck is not loosened, do not pull the connection chuck forcefully, so as to avoid the loosening of the pole pile affecting the output of electric energy. When replacing other electrical components, the components should be disconnected from the battery.
2. The time of starting the motor should not be too long. It is better not to exceed 5 seconds. The time of starting two times is more than 30 seconds. When starting three times in a row is unsuccessful, the reason should be found out, and the start should be stopped after cleaning up the fault.
3. Always check the liquid level of electrolyte. The liquid level of electrolyte should be 10-15mm higher than the pole plate or between the upper and lower liquid level lines marked on the shell. The reduction of electrolyte level is mostly due to the consumption of water evaporation during battery operation, so distilled water should be injected when electrolyte is scarce. The addition of electrolyte with the same density as the original electrolyte is allowed only when it is known that the reduction of the liquid level is caused by the sputtering of the electrolyte. Check the height of liquid level, avoid using various metal rods to avoid self-discharge.
4. Stop recharging in time. The battery discharges 50% in summer and 25% in winter. The battery should be unloaded from the car and stopped recharging. Check the generator conditioner regularly to prevent over charging or lack of charging.
5. No electrolyte is allowed on the surface of the battery, and it is clean and dull. Surface dirt is prone to cause short circuit, loss of electric energy, damage to batteries. The oxide between the pole pile and the wiring clamp easily causes the current flow to be blocked, which affects the starting of the motor and the power consumption of other equipment.
6. When using in winter, the storage battery should be kept warm or packed with a cold-proof jacket; when using in summer, the storage battery should be protected from sunshine.
7. Batteries from different manufacturers or batteries with different levels of old and new should not be mixed in a battery group, otherwise the battery may be damaged. It is better not to stop charging the batteries in parallel, otherwise the service life of the batteries will be shortened.
8. If batteries need to be stored, they should be fully charged before being separated from charging equipment, and then stored in a cool, dry, ventilated and clean center. Long-term out-of-use batteries should also be recharged regularly. There is an internal self-discharge problem in the batteries. The daily self-discharge amount is about 2%. That is to say, the full-charged batteries will be discharged by the internal self-discharge even if they are not used at all after a long time. However, the plate of the battery which is short of electricity will be vulcanized quickly, thus greatly weakening the storage capacity. Therefore, batteries that have been out of service for a long time should be recharged once a month for about 10 hours each time. When batteries are rarely used, batteries must be recharged monthly to ensure adequate and quasi-startup status.
