Sonnenschein battery is an important part of UPS system. Its quality is directly related to the reliability of the whole UPS system. However, the battery is the shortest MTBF device in the whole UPS system. The varieties of solar battery in Germany can be generally divided into valve regulated sealed lead-acid battery, gel battery, etc. UPS requires that the selected battery has the characteristics of high current output in a short time.
1. German VRLA battery
Because of its small volume, good sealing function and little protection, it is widely used in all kinds of UPS power supply. VRLA has two skills to prevent the electrolyte activity inside the battery: one is to mix the sulfuric acid electrolyte with SiO2, and then fill the battery with colloid to make gel battery (gel for short). The other is to use ultra-fine glass wool to absorb the electrolyte unsaturated, and make the liquid absorption battery or lean solution battery (AGM). Because the latter has better high current discharge function, it is widely used in UPS system, and AGM batteries are mostly produced by domestic manufacturers.
2. German solar colloid battery
Sonnenschein battery is a kind of development classification of lead-acid battery. The simplest way is to add gelling agent in sulfuric acid to make the sulfuric acid electrohydraulic become gelled. The gel battery is usually called gel battery. In a broad sense, the difference between gel battery and conventional lead-acid battery is not only that the electrohydraulic is changed to gelled state. The difference between gel cell and conventional lead-acid cell, from the initial understanding of electrolyte gelling, further developed to the research of electrochemical characteristics of electrolyte base structure, as well as the application in grid and active substances. Its most important characteristics are: using less industrial value, along the lead-acid battery industrial road with a history of 150 years, to make a better quality battery, its discharge curve is straight, the inflection point is high, the specific energy, especially the specific power, is 20% larger than the conventional lead-acid battery, the life is generally about twice longer than the conventional lead-acid battery, and the high-temperature and low-temperature characteristics are much better.
